UCL Academicals Mens 3rd XI 1 - 0 Epsom Men's 4th XI

Match Report

The 13th of November was a dark and miserable day as the valiant 3s marched into the Thames Ditton fortress, OC wing.

Upon arrival a preliminary battle had already commenced, a little light entertainment before the main event. After a good show some courteous applause was heard and excitement began to grow, drawing in many of the locals as the ‘Wild boys’ entered the caged venue…

Our ‘great’ captain chopper lead the battle chant and ‘inspired’ by his words we took up our positions. The Epsonian army seemed to have a range of experience with their back line being mostly made up of stalwart veterans.

A couple of tentative initial blows were exchanged, but it became quickly apparent that the might of the Wild Boys could not be kept at bay. Before long the strike team had infiltrated the enemy defence where Sir Ravenscroft hammered home a piercing blow.

The fierce Epsonians tried to hit back however the Wild Boys had yet to unleash their secret weapon. With a fierce howl the bloodthirsty Trav tore into the fray, hacking and slicing through the Epsonians until there was nothing left.

The Wild Boys were victorious and the jubilations quickly commenced, with many of the men succumbing to the local brew at the OC tavern. One of the cocky new recruits, a young n’ by the title of ‘Buoy Bhand’, was keen to pit his drinking abilities against his new captain. However it was not long before the captain had dispatched the new boy, forcing him to take his own life in shame. May his soul rest in peace in ‘El Quatros’.
